Like you, we have been experiencing a lot of changes in a quick amount of time. It feels like all of this is straight out of a sci-fi dystopian-reality novel. It’s hard to believe that this is real life.
We are social distancing, I am working from home, Rob is not coaching, which is hard, but just started posting football drills on his Instagram which is cool (check him out @huddleupnyc). Lucie is schooling from home, and both girls will start getting therapy using FaceTime with their therapists while we support them. Typically we’re all pretty busy, but our calendars and tasks are siloed as we get things done on our own; like me going to work, Rob working from home, and Lucie learning at school. These schedules have all overlapped onto each other and honestly the demands on our daily tasks have never felt more compressed. We are trying to find some sort of balance, and with each day we learn how to navigate it all a little better, but it is not easy.
We are really only going out to walk Bess, get groceries, and to take a “Family Walk” once a day. I am hopeful that we will continue to be able to do that since we don’t have a backyard and it has been really pleasant for us to go out together as a family.
Our grocery deliveries have stopped, so we are going to the grocery store a few times a week and thankfully they have remained stocked with new deliveries every day.
So many things depend on us being able to interact with each other in person. Praying for us all, as it spreads rapidly and I have no doubt that as more testing is done throughout the US, we will see numbers increase in every state.
Love to you all. Be well! And wash hands!

PS: in February we got to take a trip to Florida during Lucie’s winter break. I’d still like to share a post from that wonderful time, but just wanted to hop on to give a more current update first.
All together at the end of Feb celebrating Calvin’s 1st bday! (Pre-Social Distancing!)
Happy Birthday!
Mini-Sleepover for the kiddos while the adults celebrated Justin’s 40th!
Lucie in her flower girl dress from Addi - that she wore everyday for a week!
Bess in her favorite sunny spot
Lucie’s idea to bring me breakfast in bed because I wasn’t feeling well. Notice she is still in that flower girl dress.
Uncle Greg and Rob getting their haircuts at Sam’s… Lucie loves to get her haircut there too so she tagged along.
Felicity getting PT and working on sitting up!
Bess had to get in on the session too!
Playing with our friend Olive
We tried to do an experiment where the food coloring added to the water would change the color of the daisies. It took SEVERAL days, but by the following weekend there were tiny specks of color on the petals.
Feli working on weight-bearing on her arms
By the middle of March, COVID fears were surfacing more and more… and toilet paper was flying off the shelves. After searching online and in a few neighborhood stores we went to Rite Aid just to take a look and happened to walk in as one last box was being opened to re-stock an empty shelf.
Reading to the girls our first night in.
Lucie’s school area in our living room

Family Dance Party on Saturday morning. The girls are wearing their new Easter Dresses, because WHY NOT!? lol
Family walk to Carl Schurz. It feels like we have Yorkville all to ourselves.
Church on Sunday morning through Zoom. During worship time, Rob was drumming on a practice pad and Lucie was playing her “lay-lee”. It was comforting to see familiar faces on zoom, but my heart ached not knowing when we will be able to meet together again.
Ballet on YouTube led by a friend of ours.
Daffodils on a chilly Spring walk to Central Park
SQUISHY SQUISH
Almost there…
The greatest park in the greatest city.
Our neighborhood playground all to ourselves - don’t worry, we take “hand-sani” breaks and water breaks often and then do our regular “Shoes Off, Jackets Off, Wash Hands” routine when we get home.
“She farted on me!”
Enjoying drawing lessons from one of our favorite authors, Mo Willems. He posts a lunch art lesson everyday on YouTube. Lucie has watched a few.
Rob is getting the hang of it!
Lucie on a Google Classroom meet with her class. One of her classmates has a BOUNCY CASTLE in his living room! Lol, only in NYC.
A notice posted at another playground nearby. Things like this really make it feel like a movie where things could not possibly be true, like a bad dream.
I was working on thursday and heard what sounded like drumming outside. It stopped and I forgot about it. Fifteen minutes later I heard it again and when I stood up to look, there was indeed a man drumming on plastic bins outside my window. Again… only in NYC! LOL.
