Lucie Update- Dec 30, 2014

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our "Little Miss Independent" is quite insistent on doing things for herself, as I have mentioned before. She has yet again (and I'm sure this will happen many more times as she get's older) pulled the breathing tube out of her mouth. Very insistent upon this! As of 10AM she has been breathing through the nasal prongs and they have increased, that's right, INCREASED her feeding from 6 hours to 10 hours each 12 hour period! Is it ok that I'm a little jealous that she gets to eat for 10 hours straight? She is under the lights again and rockin' the shades nicely. They have taken her IV out of her forehead, so we are hoping the head ultrasound will be completed soon, however with New Years approaching it may be a few days out yet, we are praying that when it is completed it would show no bleeds, however we understand that if it does that is not necessarily out of the norm. Also, we are learning that Lucille just LOVES to sleep on her belly... fun fact for ya. Please keep praying that she is strengthened each day and that she grows and continues to tolerate her feeds.

Drea and I are so very thankful for yet another great day. Please continue to pray for Drea to have a speedy recovery, there are moments where she's still trying to be a "hero" and we need her to chiiilllllll. Work has been going well for me, and I have really been enjoying being back with my coworkers and the much needed routine. Please pray that Drea and I can figure out when to get to the hospital to see Lucille once school is back in session and I get back to full swing at work. Your prayers and support have been huge to us with all this. We are so blessed to have friends and family that will walk with us, crawl, and even at times help carry us through this. We don't know what we would do without the Lord sustaining us each day, sometimes each moment, and without all of the love and support from y'all. We are continuing to keep the mindset of a day by day process as we know this is still just the beginning. But we can't help also thinking that Lucille will be considered "26 weeks" gestational age tomorrow and will be TWO weeks old on Thursday! C'mooooooon April 2015!!!!!! We look forward to the day when we can bring her home AND for you all to be able to meet this lil champ!

Blessings to all of you!

Love,

Rob, Drea, Lucille, and Bess
