Lucie Update- Feb 18, 2015 - Two Months Old

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we celebrate our little two month old daughter, it is so overwhelmingly wonderful to also think about all of your faithful prayers and support for two months as well. It has been quite the ride and we know there is still more to go. We can not thank you all enough for your prayers and support, there is just no way, but know we will always be trying ;).

SO, Lucille Carolyn Hickson is officially 2 months old as of 9:17am, and as it also happens to be Wednesday, she is now considered a 33 weeker. She has already started off with a bang! They have increased her feeds to 35 mL every 3 hours. When we weighed her tonight, she was at 1725 grams actually putting her down 1 oz, to 3lbs and 13oz becaaaaaauuuuuuse she had a 1 OZ POO just before we started to do her cares! #SoProud We were even able to give her a bath in a little tub (see pics below).

Last night they "sprinted" her and she did really well. Sprinting by the way is the next step in getting her closer to being off the nasal prongs. They turn off the rate on her ventilator and only have the pressure going, making her completely responsible for breathing at her own rate. We were so excited to her this when Andrea called this morning for the update. They will be "sprinting" Lucie for an hour now every 12 hours. They will slowly increase that time as she does better and better.

Looking back it's amazing to see God's miracle in Lucie's life and just how much he has watched over her and us. I was mentioning to Drea the other day, that it just blows my mind to think that God who is SO big that He not only created, but holds the whole universe in His hand, cares about every little detail in Lucille's and our lives. That's it, just us, you guys are out of luck... sorry ;) No, but seriously how awesome is it that He does care for you too. We love you all so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love,

Los Hicksons
