Hi Friends and Fam,
As you know, we are still taking it one day at a time, one gram at a time, one mL at a time, and one beautiful, baby girl, breathe at a time! Lucie-Lyn is 7 Weeks Old To.DAY! We are just so blessed to have her in our lives.
Today they started Lucie-Lyn on bolus feeds. This type of feeding is where they feed her a larger quantity every three hours instead of a smaller quantity continuously for ten hours. This is to help get her used to eating on a regular schedule. She will still receive the same overall amount of milk and vitamins, and it is still through a feeding tube, it's just portioned out differently so she gets used to normal feeding times. Thankfully she is tolerating the feeds and has reached her goal of 25 mL/feeding. Please pray that she continues to tolerate the feeds on this new schedule. Lucie is also starting to take pacifiers to practice sucking (see picture below). We are so blessed by her progress and getting to see Lucille become more and more beautiful and "chunky" every day.
