Sooo, this was going to be a super cute update with ADORABLE pictures of Lucie that we took yesterday during a fun "newborn" photoshoot, and don't worry, we'll still share the pictures, but there has been a lot of commotion for Los Hicksons today...
We're BAAAACK... In the hospital that is...
Lucie wasn't feeling all that great today and wasn't acting like herself, she was coughing a lot, sleeping a lot and had very little appetite. We called her pediatrician and decided to make an appointment to have her checked out late this afternoon. While we were at the doctor's office, she had a desat into the 60's (oxygen dropped) and she turned pale. The doctor called a team together to get Lucie on O2. They were able to get her back up into the 90's and even 100% but decided to send us to the ER via ambulance so that she could keep getting O2. They also did a swab to check for RSV and that came back negative. While in the ER they performed a chest x-ray to check out her heart and lungs, which came back normal so they were able to rule out pneumonia. They believe that she may have a virus of some sort, so we have been admitted to the PICU (Pediatric ICU) and will be here for observation at least one night.
As of now, she's doing well, her oxygen level is at 99% and she is not receiving any O2 assistance. We also found out that she is weighing in at 8lbs, 4oz, which is tremendous! We'll be keeping you posted, please keep us in your prayers as we wait to learn more about what's going on with Lucie Pie and what could have caused her to have the desat.
