Friends!
Can you believe we have an 11 month old? We can't either! How did we get the great privilege of being this little girl's mom and dad? It's unreal.
Lucie-Lyn is so excited because she has a new BFF besides her furry friend, Bess. Our friends, Rich and Jessa, that are part of our NYC family welcomed a daughter of their own, Elle, in early November. We went to meet the new family of three at the same hospital Lucie was born at, and where she spent several months in the NICU. What incredible déjà vu to walk up to that pink, white, and blue awning and enter that familiar building... but this time with our Lucie Pie! It was a sweet day of getting to celebrate Elle's arrival and soak up the fact that we are all parents. We all prayed for each other for so long to be able to welcome these little darling girls into our lives. We visited some of Lucie's nurses from the NICU that evening too, it was an encouraging reunion and Lucie was excited to see them all even though it was past her bedtime. She gave them all lots of smiles! Lucie can still be sort of stingy with the smiles, so that's a pretty big deal!
Lucie got her first monthly shot for RSV, which thankfully she will get throughout RSV season. She is doing really well with her five therapy sessions each week. Everything she works on in those sessions spills out into our time with her and we can tell she is getting stronger by the day. She got to participate in a class that is taught by her Physical Therapist to other therapists that want to be trained to work with babies and that was a pretty cool experience too.
Lucie's favorite thing to do is blow raspberries. She's eating more solids and looooves when we mix fruits and veggies. She tries to feed herself with the spoon by grabbing it from us, and she also tries to feed herself from the bottle. We tried to give her some water from a transition sippy cup but she was not a fan just yet. She's sitting up all the time and squirms a lot whenever she's on her back because she would rather be up, which is a great sign! She has started to scooch while she's sitting up. She'll do a little hop while she sits so she can scooch forward. It's absolutely adorable. We can tell she wants to be more mobile and wants to explore, it's so encouraging!
We have lots of pictures from the past two weeks, hope you enjoy them!
